synopsis
In an animated sequence, Arthur Fleck is impersonated by his shadow, who acts violently and takes his place to perform his singing number for a TV show, and then abandons him on stage before three police officers arrive and attack him.
At a movie screening attended by Arthur, Lee, and abusive guard Jackie Sullivan, Sullivan lights a fire at the back of the theater. Amid the chaos, Fleck and Quinzel attempt to escape but are caught climbing over the gate, with reporters on the other side, Arthur is then placed in solitary confinement.
